Creating an interactive learning environment where children can develop social skills, builds self-esteem, and become lifelong learners in my goal and an important component of childcare in the beginning impressionable years. Being part of their growth journey everyday makes this profession deeply fulfilling for me and brings me joy each day.

I chose this career as I loved the idea of being a part of children’s early adventures in learning.

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am so excited to be apart of Beaver Creek Daycare. I went to school to become an Early Childhood Educator at George Brown College and now have 3 years of experience in all ages from infants-school age and am a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I have three siblings and one dog! Some of my favorite things to do are travel, trying new foods, sit/be outside, crafts and spending time with my family!

Hi, my name is Dakota. I’m 26 years old and work as an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) in childcare, working with toddlers. My hope in the future is to pursue my dream of becoming a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I have been in this field for about 3.5 years and I’ve enjoyed every aspect of it! My favourite colour is blue, I had a cat name Shadow and I love photography.

My name is Ravikiran Kaur, and I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Northern College. With four years of experience in childcare, I have had the opportunity to work with children of all ages. My priorities are to build trust with the children, to help the children gain self-confidence and to make them independent and most importantly secure. I strongly believe in a play-based learning approach, where the Early Childhood Educator acts as a facilitator, allowing children to learn, grow, and explore within a safe and supportive environment. My name is Jenny or as the children call me “ Miss Jenny“. I am one of the teachers in Preschool 2. I have a degree in Child and Youth Work, and I am currently completing my education as an Early Childhood Educator. I can honestly say I have the most rewarding job. Everyday our classroom is filled with laughter, silly stories and songs… (baby shark doo, doo…) “While we teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” As a mother of two myself I have learned life’s greatest lessons through my children’s eyes. Seeing the world through their perspective is what brings me joy. I look forward to being a part of your children’s educational journey!

From a very young age I knew that my love of children would lead me into the field of childcare. In 1995, I graduated from Sheridan College with my ECE diploma. In 1996 I was married and shortly after expecting our first child which was when I decided to be a stay-at-home mom and begin my exciting journey of opening my home childcare centre. After a successful 27 year fulfilling career of home daycare, I knew it was time for a change and was luckily enough to join the Beaver Creek Family where I currently enjoy working in Pre-school Room 2.

Fun fact about me: I can speak two languages, make silly animal sounds that make the children laugh, and I love singing Baby Shark without losing my voice!

Caring for little ones is my passion! I have a childlike spirit myself—I get just as excited about stories, running games and art projects especially if they contain a lot of glitter! Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and cosplay and I secretly dream of trading Canadian snow for Icelandic snow one day. I’ll admit! snack time is secretly my favorite part of the day too.

Working with children has been my passion since 2013, and I truly believe that every child is full of endless potential! I love creating a fun, nurturing space where little ones can express their creativity, be silly, explore the world around them, and grow into confident, curious learners. Watching children light up with excitement as they discover something new is the best part of what I do!
When I’m not at the centre, you’ll probably find me unwinding at a yoga class, sipping coffee at a cute café, or out on a hike! I feel so lucky to do what I love every day and to help children learn, grow, and thrive!
